For example: the application determines if a chosen service is allowed during the times/dates selected; "add-on" services are screeed to see if the "major" service has been selected; credit card deposit and billing information are checked for accuracy and completeness.
A secure administrative "back-end" lets spa staff review all requests and settle deposit transactions.
The nice thing about this application is that the list of available services and prices are derived automatically from the staff-maintained spa menu -- whenever they add, edit or delete service info from the main menu, the reservations page is automatically updated as well.
